Aurora, a non-profit in Evansville that works to prevent and end homelessness, is hosting their annual Midwest Gingerbread House Competition, presented by First Bank, on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Old National Events Plaza (formerly the Centre) in Evansville. Drawing over 1,500 guests, this year’s event will feature 50+ teams competing in three divisions —youth, amateur and professional—to build gingerbread houses onsite. Guests will also enjoy holiday entertainment, free kid’s activities, pictures with Santa, and holiday shopping at the silent auction.
Aurora is in need of competitors for every division! This competition is for everyone. Not a baker? Buy a kit! Are you a great baker? You could win up to $2,500! This event is about having fun, making holiday memories and supporting Aurora and helping them raise money to assist homeless men, women and children in finding a permanent place to call home.
There is NO entry cost for competitors. Generous local businesses have sponsored all the teams this year; however, in order for us to take advantage of the sponsorships, we need competitors. You will be responsible for your supplies.
