First Bank Makes Donation to Carmi Recreational Summer League

First Bank representatives in Carmi presented a $25,000 check to Carmi Recreational Summer League board members on Friday, January 29. The funds will go toward a new concession and restrooms facility at Bradshaw Park in Carmi. The construction of the building will be completed by Opening Day on Saturday, May 7. Employees of First Bank, First Insurance, and First Financial Services will also be participating in the fourth annual CRSL Corporate Work Day on Friday, April 22 with various projects to be completed around the park.

“The improvements being made to Bradshaw Park through our ongoing support of the league benefits hundreds of local children who take part in the Carmi Recreational Summer League each year,” said Al Fritschle, President and CEO of First Bank. “I’m proud that our commitment to the League is not only shown through our monetary support, but also through our employees’ volunteer efforts.”

In 2014, First Bank donated $26,588 to the CRSL which funded improvements to the boys’ Bronco league baseball field, and the bank’s $25,000 donation in 2015 financed updates to the girls’ Bronco league softball field.
