First Bank ‘Leading Women’ Featured in Evansville Business

August 9, 2019

As featured in upcoming Evansville Business, August/September 2019 issue:

VP and Business Relationship Officer Christy Walker, VP and Business Relationship Officer Beth Clark, President and CPA Nikki Roser, and SVP and Business Relationship Officer Donna Hodgson.

Statistically, women account for just 15% of executive roles in the financial industry. Not at First Bank. These four superstars have more than earned their spots in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

With 107 years of combined banking experience, these leading women of First Bank know business banking. From their unwavering commitment to service and relationships to their understanding of business operations, they are truly the epitome of First Bank’s core values – honesty, integrity and humility.

Many of our women-owned business clients prefer to work alongside Nikki, Donna, Christy and Beth as they are able to provide a unique level of understanding. This especially holds true for Nikki and Beth as both of their families are multi-generation business owners. Combine that with Donna’s specialized expertise in agriculture to help local farmers thrive, along with Christy’s ability to bring businesses together as recent President and member of the Rotary Club of Evansville, makes this team a force to be reckoned with.

Our founders built First Bank in 1893 with a mission to provide strong financial futures for businesses and families. Today, we are a community bank, and every day these leading women live our mantra – Making Great Things Happen.

Larissa Hays Named Newest Fritschle Award Winner

June 7, 2019

First Bank employee Larissa Hays was recently awarded the honorable Fritschle Award, which recognizes an exceptional employee who exemplifies our core values. As part of the award, First Bank donates $500 to the winner’s nonprofit beneficiary of their choice. Larissa chose to gift her dollars to the City of Carmi K-9 Fund.

The Carmi Police Department is currently in the process of retiring current K-9, Orest, who is suffering from health issues and it has been recommended Orest be retired. Local police are asking for the community’s help in replacing Orest.

Here is Al Fritschle (Chairman of the Board & CEO) and Larissa presenting the check to Chief of Police, Jason Carter.

Carter said if you are able to support the program in any way, all donations are appreciated. Donations can be made in any manner and checks should be made payable to the Carmi Police Department K-9 Fund. The donations can be dropped off at the police department at 108 North Main Cross Street, Carmi, IL 62821 or mailed.
